Postdoctoral Position in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics and Ultracold Atoms
The George Mason University, College of Science, Center for Quantum Science (CQS) seeks a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to pursue theoretical research in the interdisciplinary field of theoretical condensed matter physics and ultracold atoms.
The successful candidate must have a strong background in many body theory. The main research topics of interest include strongly interacting quantum gases, mesoscopic superconductivity and nonequilibrium quantum dynamics.
The CQS is affiliated with the department of Physics and the department of Computational and Data Sciences at Mason. The university has a 500-node supercomputer available to the members of CQS. This position will offer opportunities for building collaborations with quantum science institutes at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the Naval Research Laboratory and John Hopkins University. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in condensed matter theory or a closely related area, demonstrated record of original research, and a proven ability to communicate complex scientific results via peer-reviewed journal articles and conference presentations.
